My father’s hands told stories in metal. From plate iron silhouettes to intricate rod iron furniture and decorative gates, his creative spark burned bright — turning raw material into lasting beauty. The original Burns husky started as a simple sketch of our childhood companion Tasha, drawn 45 years ago. He brought it to life again as one of those iron silhouettes, a piece I’ve had hanging in my home since I was a child. That husky has watched over me through every chapter, a quiet guardian of the family legacy.
Over the years, I’ve carried that same spark forward — recreating the husky in multiple mediums as personal one-offs: a 24×24 etching in mirror that once hung at the hunt camp, wood carvings, and more. Each was a private tribute, never meant for the world. But something shifted when I picked up a brush. The paintings poured out — raw, nostalgic, full of the chaos and humor of the 90s and 00s cartoons that shaped me. They’re not just art; they’re memories remixed, characters caught off the clock, frozen in moments that feel like home.
